2019 Mazda CX-5 Diesel Engine Option
Car enthusiasts might remember that Mazda announced a Mazda CX-5 Diesel model/trim a few years back. However, we haven’t heard much about a Mazda CX-5 Diesel build since then. So, let’s look back over the past year and see if any new information has been released concerning the 2019 Mazda CX-5 and its possible and/or upcoming diesel engine option.
2018 Mazda CX-5 Diesel Fuel Economy
The last big piece of information we got concerning a Mazda CX-5 was back in August 2018 for the 2018 Mazda CX-5. Although information was not given concerning a 2018 Mazda CX-5 Diesel release date, the EPA did release fuel economy estimates for an in-development 2018 Mazda CX-5 Diesel.
According to those readings, the unreleased 2018 Mazda CX-5 Diesel had/has the following ratings:
2018 Mazda CX-5 Diesel with Front-Wheel Drive
28 City MPG
31 Highway MPG
2018 Mazda CX-5 Diesel with All-Wheel Drive
27 City MPG
30 Highway MPG
2019 Mazda CX-5 Diesel Release Date
The 2019 Mazda CX-5 released at the very end of 2018 and is out now and available for purchase. However, the release of the 2019 Mazda CX-5 SUV did not bring with it any additional information on a Mazda CX-5 Diesel build.
On Mazda’s USA website, the Mazda CX-5 Diesel is still listed as a 2017 model in its upcoming/future vehicles section.
