Mazda6, Mazda CX-5 and more named ‘Best Choice’ for Teen Drivers by IIHS

What makes a vehicle great for teen drivers? The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recommends that first-time drivers should avoid vehicles with engines that boast high horsepower ratings and stick to larger vehicles rather than small cars. Additionally, the IIHS recommends vehicles with Electronic Stability Control and vehicles that scored well on IIHS safety tests, as well as four- or five-star NHTSA recipients.
