Biggest Mazda Collection
Cars are often a driver’s most prized possession. It means a lot to them and they spent a lot of time with it so they want the perfect car to compliment their lifestyle. Sometimes drivers also have brand loyalty and they won’t buy anything that deviates from their favorite car maker. One man in Brisbane is such a big fan of Mazda, that he has 26 Mazda cars of all different models and years. Danny Irvine has a hanger size garage to keep the biggest Mazda collection that span over 50 years of Mazda.
Danny Irvine’s passion for Mazda started thanks to his uncle who had one of the first RX-7s in the late ‘70s. He said the memory stayed with him and has led him to purchasing 26 of his own Mazda vehicles. Irvine was also led by his passion to earn a degree in engineering. He focused much of his studies on the rotary engine. In 2005 he even opened his own mechanical engineering business and in 2009 he opened Automotive Plus which used to only service Miatas and RX-8s, but has since expanded to other vehicles as well.
Every year for the past three years, Irvine has opened his garage doors to the public. Last year almost 400 people came to see his collection. He has even had a Mazda enthusiast come all the way from Hong Kong to see his fleet of Mazdas. He also works on restoring vehicles. He is currently working on his wife’s car, a second generation RX-7 that in bought in 1996. Irvine hopes that one day the rotary engine will make its comeback.
