Driver assistance technology features available on Mazda vehicles that help enhance safety and comfort include:
- Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS): AFS helps provide a well-lit field of view while driving at night. It optimizes the distribution of light from the headlights and essentially turns the headlights in the direction you intend to travel.
- High Beam Control (HBC): HBC detects oncoming and preceding vehicles and automatically switches your high beam lights on and off when it deems it appropriate.
- Driver Attention Alert (DAA): DAA helps fight inattentiveness due to driver fatigue. Your Mazda learns your driver habits at speeds above about 40 MPH and gives you an alert on your Multi-Information Display (MID) when it detects changes in vehicle behavior.
- Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM): BSM uses radars in the rear bumper to detect vehicles approaching from behind in adjacent lanes. If you indicate to change lanes while a vehicle is in the blind spot, an icon flashes on the MID and a warning beep is sounded.
- Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC): When you set the cruise control at highway speeds, MRCC uses a radar to judge the relative speed and distance of the car ahead, sets a safe following distance and automatically adjusts your speed to maintain that distance.
