Yes, the winter is long, and this is the part of the year where it seems particularly stubborn. The holidays have long come and gone, the groundhog did or didn’t see his shadow, and here we are. Cold and wishing it would hurry up and warm up already. Well, not unlike our zoom-zooming vehicles here at Mazda of Lodi, we’re all for finding ways to haven fun no matter what the circumstances. So today, we’re providing you with some ideas for winter activities in Lodi NJ and the surrounding area that will help you beat boredom and make these next few months fly by. 

Fun for the whole family

Ice skating: This is a family friendly activity that’s fun, gets you moving, and is conveniently located in nearby Hackensack at the Ice House. Public skating is on Friday nights from 9:30pm to midnight for the night owls, and there are Saturday & Sunday afternoon sessions from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

Sledding: Feeling brave and adventurous? More importantly, have a lot of layers to bundle up in for warmth as well as padding? Alright, then you’re set to go sledding next time we get a nice snowfall. Try the hill across from the Montclair public pool, or the one at the New Milford Town Hall.

Hit the books: Want something a little quieter to do that still gets you out of the house? How about hitting up the Lodi Memorial Library? It’s open on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 12:30-8pm, and Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 9:30-5pm. Not only is there a great catalog of books, magazines, and more to browse, but there are regular activities for adults and kids as well. Over 55? If you or someone you know is 55 or older, the Lodi Senior Citizens club gives you lots of opportunities to get out and socialize no matter what the season. Casino trips, card games, pizza parties, and much more all year round. More info here.
