Mazda Sponsors SXSW 2015
Last fall we announced that Mazda had become an official sponsor of South by Southwest (SXSW), an annual interactive, film and music conference and festival in Austin, TX. Following up on the news that Mazda sponsors SXSW 2015, Mazda has released a list of engaging activities planned for the event, showing that they are more than your typical auto manufacturer.
SXSW will start March 13 and run through March 22, during which time Mazda will connect with event attendees through a panel discussing how the digital age has changed the relevancy of a brand.
Other activities at the ten-day festival will provide opportunities for SXSW attendees to check out new 2016 Mazda models. The Mazda Express station will allow people to hop into the 2016 Mazda CX-5 crossover SUV or the Mazda6 sedan.
The Mazda Connects Lounge is another opportunity for auto fans to check out some brand new models. While resting up from all the SXSW excitement, attendees can get up close to the all-new 2016 Mazda CX-3 and MX-5 Miata — two highly anticipated vehicles.
It won’t all be about new Mazda models (though we wouldn’t mind), however, as Mazda will make music at the Mazda Sound Stage. Using Mogees, which turn ordinary objects into musical instruments by interpreting their vibrations, a 2015 Mazda3 will become a symphony through the taps and touches of attendees.
In December, Mazda teamed up with Xbox to create a contest for the driving video game Forza Horizon 2, asking players to create a custom paint job for the 1994 Mazda MX-5. Mazda will once again partner with Forza Horizon 2 at the SXSW Gaming Expo to give attendees a new way to experience Mazda through custom-built driving simulators for the game.
Also watch out for the Auditorium Shores Stage for an art installation, as well as The FADER Fort to see the 2016 Mazda CX-3 and a VIP lounge for Mazda owners who show their Mazda key.
Considering the innovation and technology incorporated into their vehicles, it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise to find that Mazda sponsors SXSW 2015. Check out this innovation first hand in our inventory at Mazda of Lodi, and like many at SXSW, why not get behind the wheel.
